College Costs
The bills pile high, a daunting stack,
A monetary, heart-attack.
My savings dwindle, stress takes hold,
A future mortgaged, stories told
Of ramen nights and budget woes,
Where every dollar carefully goes.
A thirst for knowledge that returns
A brighter vision, sharper mind,
A world of possibilities to find.
Though costly now, the seed is sown,
A future reaped, uniquely grown.
The price is steep, the struggle real,
But the worth within, I truly feel.

Your Poem's Voice
Personal financial struggle with abstract aspiration for knowledge and growth.
Multiple interconnected ideas: debt, stress, education value, future hope compressed densely.
Negative present circumstances balanced by optimistic resolution and belief in worth.
Urgent language (pile, attack, dwindle) tempered by reflective, measured conclusion.
16 lines; falls in 16-30 range, scored as 5-6 range midpoint.
Metaphors (seed, fire, mortgaged), personification (fire burns), some plain declaration.
Pure lyric introspection; first-person internal voice throughout, no dramatic shift.
