A College Sonnet

“Can’t pay for your future, we don’t have enough!” They’re talking again about our lack of green stuff “Everyone faces this trouble; life’s rough!” “That doesn’t make it better!” I sigh and I huff So much importance is placed on this price And if you cant reach it, here’s some advice: “Too bad, try next year!” and to be more precise, “This amount of green stuff just will not suffice.” But how trivial this problem is made to seem, When really the effect is much more extreme The rest of your life, swimming upstream… And more than that still, the loss of a dream That green stuff does nothing but cause people stress, Because these days the green stuff determines our success.
