College Vs. The Girl Back Home

My worries grow stronger

as the days grow longer

until the longest day of the year,

Look! Summer's here,

and it's time for me to go

 to a brand new place

with new people, new things,

and new fears I can't show.

"We'll keep in touch."

Burns my lips as it exits my mouth

I sound like one of those

soap opera douche bags I complain about.

No.

I gotta stay strong

Who's to say she's the one?

Were young were dumb

This is all just for fun

But at the same time its not,

She's the best thing I've got.

I hesitate.

It's time to go.

To a new life i say hello,

and say goodbye ,

to the things i know.
