College Year

As I sit here on this porch not a cloud in the sky,

 I rock in this this chair and start to cry.

I ponder my life and all the years gone by;

I take a deep breath and let out a sigh.

God has blessed me  each and every day;

He has graciously kept me in is will & his way.

The smell of the air the sound of the birds;

Can hardly be captured with just mere words.

The warmth of the sun upon my face;

A constant reminder of God’s amazing grace.

I never knew I was loved this much;

Until I felt the fathers touch.

I step off the porch and feel the dirt between my toes;

How I got here God only knows.

It seems like yesterday I started pre-k;

Then a wink and a kiss and its gone all away.

The night of my prom oh how I did dance;

Now a memory I can see at a glance.

I am now standing at the pasture looking at the grass;

Thinking to myself how my school did pass.

Its off to college soon and out on my own;

Guess that’s  just part  of  being all  grown.

I wiped the tears away and started inside;

My mom just yelled it’s suppertime.

I’m going to eat and put on a smile;

And enjoy being home just a little while.

No more wrestling within; causing pain or strife

Because tomorrow I'm off to start the rest of my life
