Colliding Colors

Her face changes shape Splits, reforms The kaleidoscope is drained, its poison expelled; The girl’s face emerges Older, aged, masculinized The man’s lips form her name Lazily, Gesturing towards the door; Her hand wraps ‘round his finger, Anchored; His steps are as staggered as the child’s; Past the park, Dark, vacated, Too late for her wish; She falls asleep, Dreaming of sunshine and companionship
