COLOR

Black ? White? Light skinned vs. Dark? They are just colors to me but there was time when color was everything. Color was who you were Color was who you was going to grow up to be Color was what job or pay you would get or what seat you could seat at or what restaurant you could eat in But to me its just a color A color can not define who I am, who I am going to be Black, Brown, White Are just colors in the crayon box's to me. Its hard to believe a COLOR held so much power A COLOR, A COLOR To believe that if you were born a COLOR that just determine your whole life A COLOR ? A five letter word can cause hate and violence? A five letter word can divide a nation? But I thought there was only one race? The human race So how can a color determine me, you, him, her, everyone around me ? Black, White, Brown skinned vs. Light skinned We have developed a hate towards each other, ourselves, and our own kind... over a COLOR? We are equals, We are united, We are the same, but we are different, We are humans not a color in the crayola box.
