Color

Black and white fades To ashes. Splatter the sandy spaces Of canvas; With colors of earth. Bright blues the same hue As the birds, The splashing water of oceans, Floating blue of daytime skies. Paint your papers with the yellow sun. Use the textures Of plump daisies; Mash them into waxy pastels. Throw them into a garden of greens Stocky, thin grasses Hiding unfound colors: Red, round marbles Alone and lost. Shiny metallic sends signals From a patch of overgrown Dirt-brown weeds. Mix baby-pink cheeks, Into a blanket of purple clouds Covering the evening sky With a sweet Cotton candy glow. Sprinkle your white paper With colors of life. Splash your black photos, With colors of memories. Don’t be afraid- To smear your world, With your painted hands.
