Color Drain

I’ve done it, you’ve seen me
in black and white
I’ve sucked all the color out
because the vibrancy frightens me

Because for all the world
I don’t want my heart
I am that lovesick, heart break
Dreaming-all-the-time girl

I will always be
too happy--too plain
and that’s the way I like it

Forget the shaking hands
Forget the squandered days
Thinking about all I haven’t done

Now I’m wondering if
the mechanic warmth
can make my smile more real

It reminds be that I’ll always be
that lovesick, heart break
dreaming-all-the-time girl

That angry, forgetting,
yelling-all-the-time girl

Is that all the naked picture shows?
