Color Poem

Pink,

Lipstick plastered onto a plastic Barbie Doll,

A ten year old painting her nails,

The familiar oink belted out on a farm,

Hubba Bubba bubble gum being popped in your ear,

Cotton Candy melting in your mouth at the carnival,

The potent rubber coming off a balloon,

The coming of spring filled with cherry blossoms’ perfume,

Your new fluffy slippers that slide across the kitchen floor,

My bed spread sitting comfortably on top of my mattress,

A talking Barbie Dream House that every girl dreams for,

Patrick Star climbing out from underneath his rock to start the day,

A refreshing quench of Sobe Life Water from a vending machine,

My smooth pen jotting down self-notes during the day,

Pink.
