Color Your World

Location

She painted with green tint
Endless strokes on every canvas
Focus detailed upon every line
Evoking emotions that are endless

She painted with green tint
because it was the color of his eyes,
and the leaves of the forest,
and the seats on the bus,
and the healthy grass outside,
and thorny rose stems.

She painted with green tint
because it portrayed her emotions
even when her friends betrayed
even when the parents screamed
even when he spewed insults
and nothing worked out.

Because green was her beloved
and it was his favorite as well
even when he was sick while
his skin was green.

She painted with green tint,
because he said she adorned it best
When she took a bite of a green apple
When she found a four-leafed clover
When she looked like a tree-hugger
and gave her an emerald necklace.

She painted with green tint,
because it was their color
Their picnics on green grass
Their kisses under green leaves
Their little green blanket
And his most angelic shade of jade
when he never recovered.

And she still painted in green tint
because it was the color of the grass,
and his favorite color
and the color of his eyes
on his last few final days.
