Colorfield
A colorfield
In big mad shapes
Dance in ones composition
Something so broad
There are no mistakes
And everyone can see in and listen
Living in red to visit blue to see pink on a spring day
My mind can jump
So my feet may run
So tonight can be completely forever
Fevers in the rainforest of your hazy eyes looking to the sky
Thinking forever
Its the blue you’re living in
We skip and prance from subject to subject
Burning money by skipping class
By being in your car
future free
So the air can feel like magic
Time doesn’t matter.
Your skins still smooth.
We have danced through the years in those shapes
And in Septembers
The colorfield shrinking each time our feet touch upon blue or yellow
Slowly the picture forms
The dance stops
In order to gaze upon the actuality
Children staring starry-eyed toward the land, feet in the grass
As if the earth has stopped
And for a second the grand display
Eyes filled with heaven they look upon the sky
The trees are big
The buildings are wonders
and the clock begins to tick
We work
Toward our grand visions
The magic has been replaced with journey
And the sense that earth is malleable
and inherited
We hope for a future we are slowly walking toward
This time with a collective power
To create and hold the world
The picture now clear
We see the web that composes its majesty
And understand it all can be
No longer a land of Eden to play
No longer lazy sunny days
No longer absolute youth
But a colorfield
