Coloring Outside the Lines

Creativity is depleting

When we are five,

        The sky can be gold,

        The sun can be blue

         Leaves can be purple,

         And the possibilities are infinite.

Coloring outside the lines is possible and accepted.

What happened?

We "grew up".

The sky can only be blue,

The sun is only be gold,

       Leaves are green,

       And possibilities are limited.

Thinking outside the box is no longer accepted,

     But frowned upon,

And can be considered a difficult and daunting task.

If we keep imagination alive,

feed our creativity more and more

      Each day we are alive,

Then we will never "grow up",

We will just keep growing and creating,

What will happen then?

      The possibilities are limitless.
