The colors

Lauren Cousin

Entry title: The colors

My rose petals defined by every soft crease

My stem unique compared to all the others

My thorns sharp

My roots so deep nothing can pull me from where I’m grounded

I'm a defined color

Roses in this world come in a variety of colors

Some colors are perceived as a more suitable than the others

they’re still flowers one maybe red or white

Everyone systematically chooses the “traditional” white rose

Leaving the red rose to grow extra strong thorns to protect itself from others

At the same time trying to make itself a white rose

They’re seen as “traditional” or “preferred” but both are beautiful in every way just different colors

No matter what color your petals are  they’re perfect

you can be in any garden you chose to be in

Grow into your petals

Love your petals

I finally love my petals
