Colors
You were so intrigued
By those bright pretty colors
It didn’t matter where or what it was
You always saw the beauty it portrayed
No matter if it was a flower by the grass
Or maybe the blue right before sunrise
You fell in love with those colors
More than you were with yourself
But then you slowly drifted from them
Instead trapped in a toxic love
Abusive and terrifying
and unworthy love with those thin black and white lines of your thoughts
Growing so bored and tired of them you searched for a new color to love
Far and wide
high and low
Day and night
Through the dark and light
Day by day as your times became more colorless
You started to lose hope
To feel that warm touch of color
Slowly being consumed black and white
Eventually you found a color though
Maybe not as bright and pretty as the others
However it was a color
Not a blue before sunset
Or a yellow flower by the grass
But a deep crimson red
So dark and decieving
Your want to see the color gew more and more
Not as much to see it
But rather to escape the colorless love
This did not come from a sunset nor a flower
You made it yourself
Drawing more crimson with each stroke of that blade
Craving for more and more
Though unlike your old love
So bright and hopeful
Your new love
So cold and so dark
Had a limit
A limit you had wished to reach once you never wanted to see those thin lines again
A limit where you would see so much crimson
Until you didn’t
Because after the last draw of crimson
You were not consumed by thin, black and white lines
Yet a dark, pitch black void
Never to see colors again
-Was it worth it?
