Colors and Life

Colors Poem: Blue, Green, and Black Blue is the clear sky, the deep sea, my home country’s flag, baby boys just born Flowers in my garden, eyes that Hitler longed for, my favorite Italian Ice My sister’s favorite color, and stain glass that covers churches. It is King Louis IX of France’s clothing, what a bride needs to wear for her wedding The lace on my mother’s china, berries that stain my clothing, the sadness of depression The gravel in my aquarium, the US army uniforms, dolphins that scientists try to understand And my folders for school. Green is the growing grass my neighbors need to cut, the emeralds on His Majesty's crown The leaves on trees that have not yet changed colors for autumn, nature in my backyard The frogs that don’t stop croaking on camping trips, the little monster of jealousy, and for hope. It is the Saudi Arabian flag, Justine’s room, the money that the stock market seems to be losing unripe bananas that don’t taste that great, pool tables where I always lose, Earth Day, The chlorophyll in the plant cells, delicious Granny Smith apples my mother never buys The only girl M&M, and the pigs on Angry Birds that never seem to die. Black is the outer space and universe, coal that is burned for trains Cauldrons of wizards and witches, Halloween with different costumes, ink with a quill Lord Voldemort’s Death Eater’s cloaks, cats that cause bad luck, The dark that little children brighten up with nightlights. It is Hades with his underworld, Goths that walk the hallways, spiders that spin webs The Army in the Russian Civil War, rugby in New Zealand with its warrior dances Half of a bee, mourning done by those who have lost someone, and olden day TV.
