The Colors of Him
Pink. A pink rose gifted at the start. Pink cheeks when he touched me. Rosy pink laughter filling the night. A pink sundress and a little pink umbrella. A pink welcome mat and pink sheets. Pink sunlight drifting in the early morning. Pink lips and sweet pink kiss.
Yellow. Yellow sun for a yellow day on our favorite yellow picnic blanket. Yellow flowers dotting our path on yellow bricks leading home. Yellow kisses followed by yellow giggles. Yellow toenails in yellow sandals drinking from a yellow wine glass.
Red. Red faces as the screams bellow out. Red words escaping our mouths. Red eyes and red lips. A red carpet shredded apart. Red fingers curling to a fist. Red plates crashing against the wall. Red knuckles and a red, blood stained floor.
Blue. Blue lips. Blue jeans. Blue jacket. Blue eye covered by bright blue makeup. Blue dress for a blue night as we danced on a blue dance floor and watched the stars in the ominous blue sky. A blue night light on the way to bed in our favorite blue sheets.
Grey. Grey skies with angry grey storms inside. Grey clouds and grey raindrops. Grey car driving far away. Grey house with grey walls and a grey bed. Grey windowsill and drawn grey drapes. Grey mug holding cold, grey tea. Grey fuzzy slippers and grey pajama pants. Grey days and grey nights and a red, red rose.
