Columns of Joy

One job may change my life

One goal can sound the joy of a fife

If I make it there, I’ve made it grand

I’ll thank my parents for their helping hand

I dream of writing a column of sorts.

The kind that makes people contort,

With intrigued thoughts they’ll begin to talk

with family, neighbors, even their doc.

“Have you read Mr. Burford’s column today?

It speaks of life that won’t fade away.”

My columns would find the joys in this earth

then shout them out so there be no dearth

of great joy and excitement for what is to come

for the Christ is coming, and His kingdom.

I would spread the Good News,

and make it easy to see

That the Lord on High

loves you and me.

One job may change my life:

I pray that openings for columnists are rife.
