Come to Meet Me
Dear, Forgotten One
Come to meet me
Where we once were young
Full of desire and play
Out by the gates- they can’t be overgrown
I sit
Surrounded by dying wildflowers
Full of regret
My feet drug forward the moment you spoke
Scowling no more
Only wishing to be mingled forever
Why I left such a thing?
I dread the overgrown gates
The gates I have
Still young, not ready for moss
Or the yellow in October
When you come to meet me
By the gates
The moss must be cut down before I seek
