Come To My Rescue

I'm stuck in a trap, and I can't get my foot out The mercy button's not working and I'm screaming out for help I am not crying wolf, but it's a monster for sure indeed It's that same person who stares at me, when I brush my teeth My own damn self, sabotaging me If that ain't betrayal, then forget loyalty It's a tough war alright, can I get a witness The first trial’s started, and I plead the fifth Something's got to give, Lord I got too much to live for I'm just asking you to Come to my rescue Here we go again, oh I cannot give in, no I'm just begging someone to Come to my rescue I've been caught red handed, but I swear it wasn't me I'm being framed, by some bitter enemy The key witness, for the prosecution But what they don't know is that he's the felon Who better to frame me, than the guilty party Let me at him, let me free! This line of questioning, is as bias as the media I'm on my knees, praying for a Hallelujah Something's got to give, Lord I got too much to live for I'm just asking you to Come to my rescue Here we go again, oh I cannot give in, no I'm just begging someone to Come to my rescue Deliberating for days, the jury's been out All this time waiting's filling my head with doubts Thought it was a done deal, but this is not the case If they convict me, Justice is a disgrace But I won't give up hope, because I still believe Justice will prevail and show me loyalty My hands are shaking vigorously, my heart is pounding Lord, please let the verdict come back not guilty The jury files in, I give them my attentiveness They calmly say "we the jury, find the defendant..." Something's got to give, Lord I got too much to live for I'm just asking you to Come to my rescue Here we go again, oh I cannot give in, no I'm just begging someone to Come to my rescue
