The Comfort Zone

I despised my body.

I wasn't comfortable in my own skin.

I wanted to be lighter.

I wanted to be skinner.

I didn't see the beauty within.

I didn't see my potential.

I didn't believe people when they told me I was born to be somebody.

It took some time but now I'm comfortable on my own.

I am proud to be a dark skin black girl.

I feel beautiful.

I believe in myself and I will make something of myself.
