The Comforting Fire Of Acceptance

As I look apon this poor, troubled soul

My heart burns like a fire's coal

'How can they be so cruel?'

I say, and it adds to the fire's fuel

'How dare they hurt you, my dear?'

I say, words becoming more clear

'I want to help you'

I state, and you have no clue

The way I felt that day

As the barrier between us finally gave way

Courtney Adams

Hello! My pen name is Courtney Adams, and I am a young writer in Canada. I tend to write poems on suicide awareness, racial discrimination and occasionally romance, but sometimes I will write about something else that means a lot to me. I love how amazing the authors in this community are, and I enjoy reading other's poems and learning from them. Thank you for reading, C.A.
