Coming to Americadragging me to

Coming to America

dragging me to terror.

Young, Black, Princess,

so far from the motherland,

the white man had the upperhand.

Save me, raise me, release me,

Please

leave me with the dignity to cross these seas

to reclaim my glory

and to walk again amongst out native trees.

I hold my head high with pride

so all can see,

I am a Young, Black, Princess

who was meant to be free.
