A Coming December

Winter starts when scents of snow come,

Whirling with the bitter breeze.

Leaves that linger drift apart from

Holding on to loyal trees.

Peaceful silence sits among us

To await arriving snow.

Fragile flakes fall one by one, thus

Making the journey quite slow.

Quiet crystals keep on floating

To the frozen ground below,

Frosting a perfect white coating,

Lighting the whole earth aglow.
