Commercial Fishing In Alaska
Look as far as your eye can see,
For the next bouys.
Beyond the horizon, where the waves are rising!!!
Welcoming the storm, as it helps us perfect our form. Working outside of the Norm, Greatness we can preform, for fishing these men have Been born. Bouys, Anchors, and Hooks.
Fishing isnt as easy as it looks. Hearing fishermen stories that could fill a book!!!
Self motivation and believing in myself is all it took. Hoping the fish are on the hook.
We want to strike at rich real quick, getting fast with the boulin and clove hitch. Tie those knots, make things secure. Its better to make sure, be happy to do it for ya lad, say yes sir, Roger that!!! A smile or funny joke can lift someone up when there sad.
Looking back, those were some really good times we Had.
We were Landing on the black Gold mind, catching eighty thousand pounds of black cod in no time. The most in the Fleet of 2016.
Rocking and rolling on the Alaskan Dream, 36 hrs, 20 hr grinds, 4 hrs of sleep, this isn't for the weak.
Deep thoughts of inspirstion, passionate words we would speak. You learn to stay up on your feet, when everythings rocking beneath. Shinning like a lighthouse beam, Living the Dream, working as a team, going to where the fish are plenty. Sometimes it's good to be loud and scream, Matt Dauson Stone would wake up in the morning and Shout, it's the greatest day of my life! Our master baiter, AkA (The Flying SuN) He told me I was the best Greenhorn hes ever trained, he was talking me up too people downtown, Those kinda of things have a way of turning things around. We're all glad we've made it back safe an sound, Still have that Green horn After Glow, you know, excited too see how much I've grown. Its nice to be back, when you have been fishing in Kodiak!! Its a nice thought when it comes to mind, now I really know the grind. I coiled the Gear, A man beyond his years, Is a man above his fears, I would sing worship songs, when they would blare death metal music into my ears!
My captain Jason in the spur of the moment, said, let's do a set for Jesus. Seen him on his knees, rocking back an fourth, best believe this, you can't beat this source of power. It was magical an radical almost every hour.
This will separate the men from the boys, were out making noise. Whatever you can do too boost morale, we just found a way how, when the time is now... Now we're cooking with Gas, I thought I used too moove fast. Broken through, now I'm past, designed too outlast!!!
Its a race against time, theres so much going on theres alot on you mind, yet I still chose to be humble an kind. Trying to do it better the next time. Wanting to be the best fisherman I can be, Fish Hard and Die Free!!! Those who stick and stay, make it pay, a catch phrase they would like to say,
They also gave me Nick names like choppy and Junior!!! One of my favorite moments was when I was surfing on the bow dropping in them swells. The moonlight beam shinning bright for us to see at night, what a story too Tell. How could it all go together so well.
