A Common Misconception

Poetry is simple, and yet so complex

You ask a man, "What is a poem?"

He responds, "Simply words that ryme."

But it is so much more.

Poems don't have to fit in.

They may have no ryming words

But they'll still be a score.

Poets are different, unique in every aspect,

From rappers to slammers to classical jammers

They all enjoy painting pictures with words and rythm

Poetry brings people together.

They are different and yet unified

And all the same perfect.

Just like us...
