Common Time

Melodies

fill my ears and

float through my head.

Singing

the most beautiful harmonies

until my worries

disappear.

Rhythms

course through my veins and

sustain my will to breathe.

Four beats per measure,

four heart beats per measure.

Pumping

and pumping.

Filling me with

a dance

a grand waltz

a passionate tango

a graceful ballet.

Organzied

sound for

a fragile,

fleeting

soul.
