Community

In history class I watched the Indians,

Assimilate,

Their culture was destroyed by,

Greed,

At an early age I had always wondered,

Why,

The white men were so,

Stupid,

In their steadfast ways.

I wish to make the world a,

Community,

Of several, lesser communities that work,

To survive,

As the Natives had done for so long.

No single person,

Owned,

The land and,

Not one,

Lived for themself but for their,

Family.

I wish to make the world a community in which,

No one,

Has to starve because they,

Cannot provide,

For themselves without,

Compensation.

I see many people today on the,

Streets,

And children who have never seen meat.

If we were not so caught up in,

Our own,

We would see that,

survival,

Is best attained,

Together.
