Comparisons

They always cut me down, push me around and compare I'm never good enough for them They say, "Do better" when I'm doing my best I'm not you, I'm not them, just let me be myself When I catch that ball, that perfect catch, that huge grin comes, but you tear it away My grades were A's theirs were B's They did GREAT, but I can do better! If ever a compliment it goes to them So finally I break down and crack I need to face it I'll never be in their pack

I am so proud of you for learning this lesson. Growing up I have four sisters, I am the oldest, so I was always afraid their mother would pin them against me or each other by comparing all of them. But really we have all just grown so close together because we are just so different. (Our family nicknamed us as The Spice Girls, it's actually pretty funny).

I am so glad you are learning this lesson. Remember, no matter what you say or do, they are going to believe whatever they want to believe. You can tell them what you want or what you can do, but that may not laways change their beliefs. being bullied by family is harsh and extremly hurtful- afterall aren't they the ones who are suppose to be supporting you the most? It will get hard but the only thing I can suggest is this:Make yourself happy. Don't keep pushing yourself into the background. When you stand your ground and be not only who you want to be, but your own free person, you won't have to worry who anyone compares you too.

I hope I was of some help. I loved your poem dearly. Thank you for sharing.
Becca.

I feel like my parents never give me a second look next to my sisters, I'm done being the one bullied and hurt. It was time to face the facts and stop trying to please everyone and just let myself be happy.
