Compassion

Plant a seed In hard, rough ground Tend to and water it And wait for its roots to spread Pushing through the rocks Reaching down and out. Soon it will break the surface You will see the green leaves Reaching for the sun Soon it shall bloom, If you keep watch And care for its fragile nature As it becomes more beautiful And it radiates the care you gave Others will notice, They will see the fruit of your compassion Then they will plant a seed And those roots will spread again And the world will be covered with flowers.
