The Complexity of Love

Because I love you

Doesn’t mean a smack to the face

Because I love you

Doesn’t mean you should stay

Love can be used in so many manipulative ways

But what does this four letter word really say

Love is like a flower

If you water it

It grows

If you give it sunlight it blossoms

And when it goes unneutered it dies

Love should put a smile on your face

And you shouldn’t have to question

Should you leave or should you stay

Because if the loves real it won’t change

It’ll always remain the same in a way

Love will go through its phases, trials, and tribulations

Like a caterpillar changing into a butterfly

The power of love

Will give you wings

Imaginary wings where you can soar and fly

Moral of the story real love doesn’t die
