Complicated

As I retire

I perform a similar routine

It involves a person

Sometimes it is dream

He is only a boy

But he is somehow quite relevant

Although his attitude is sour

His kindness is potent

I take the critiques in stride

He truly means well

It reminds me of home

The thought causes my heart to swell

Lower into my bed I sink

Wondering how strange familiar seems

I might even prefer it

However the thought terrifies me

Love is a combination

Never a simple word

Now I can’t understand it

It’s slightly absurd

I want to cry

For lack of understanding

As I have no reasons why

Home is here

But it is also there

Now I can’t decide
