Comprehension

I cry out for answers,

But try as I might

I fail to find a cure.

It's too out of sight.

How dare you

Treat her with such disrespect

Her innocence glows,

Though her disgust for you projects.

Sixteen years

You had been so sly,

Thought you had flawlessly

Hidden your lies.

The truth does not always

Set you free.

Never again

Shall you see me.

I'll never understand,

As it remains unclear.

But I refuse to spend

My life living in fear.

Unable am I to explain to you

The chills I feel when I hear your voice.

Though guilty I will not feel,

For this was all your choice.

You're too far gone

To apologize,

So I will write

So you don't see me cry.
