Compulsion

The hammering in my chest

Tattoing words and thoughts

The beat beat beat of the need

My need to express, it's compulsory

Uncontrollable in the way it directs me

I close my eyes and give up the reins

Feel the syllables drip off my tongue

The phrases keep coming

Every sound, every heartbeat

Has a story it wants me to tell

They yell at me to give them feet to run with

Eyes to see and judge with

Ears to listen and a mounth to scream

The words climb out

They imprint themselves on paper

They claim they attention of everyone

They pass on the compulsion

The need to let them out is passed on

You've caught it now
