COMRADE COVID CHRONICLES

It’s been too long i miss the hugs

It’s been a while seeing the squad

It's been a moment and my campus bae is still

It’s been agonizingly long. This unwanted holiday

Carried a few clothes and a pair of shoes

It will be over soon.

We rise strong.

We shall overcome,

are the songs we have become used to.

Sanitized everything including my contact list.

The social distancing between me and my books.

Maybe guarantees am safe.

Safe from getting good grades

Online assignments, CATs n study materials

Too much way too much

My attachment at stake

The next academic year unknown

Maybe this new norm is a bad dream?

I wake up to rising cases and deaths

Feels like being overworked

But my old man would say it’s helping

The slay king, slayed by Covid.

The ever smart guy now a complete villager

Only long hair indicates the university in me.

My only way of fun is social media

Oops bundles ran out. Again!

I blame Kenya power as the reason

The reason my bundles ran out.

Soo much thoughts on what do

Soo many promises to my gal

Soo many things to change

Soo much anticipation for an end

An end to half of what Covid put a comrade through.

The comrade struggle
