conceptions of history

history isn't waterloo
the sack of troy
the atom bomb
neil a. on the moon
'i have a dream' said the king

history's the little drummer boy
astyanax scared of daddy's helm
'i am become death'
the little boys and girls who watched
we have dreams too

history's coming for you
history in the sweep of my eyeliner
in the pull of my brother's baseball glove
in what hasn't happened yet and what might never happen
but it can and that

should

terrify

you
