CONCORD WITHIN DISCORD
Ships set sail across the Aegean
In the name of love alone
Helen of Sparta, reigning temptress of the war
Paris of Troy, young and hopelessly caught
“For the fairest” beauty, the Apple of Discord
Raised quarrels between Goddesses and man
The veils of ships rising to the call
Under sheets of the bedrock, a frolic in the docks
The inexorable lust for a threatening play
Not a soul, victors without payola on Aphrodite’s behave
A plague ravishes the seas of the Mediterranean
A fated thrust for defying trust
Frantic fleets of wrecking wrath siege the shores of isles
Life battered, Gods enraged, Blood scattered, Love absent, Evidence gone astray
All under Discordia’s cloak to besiege the heavens
Each & Every demon has a form and All fools have a myth
Bygone days are repeated, mimicked; we fight for a lost yearning of infatuation
Where’s Concordia to conclude this strife?
