What is there left to do when everything has been taken from you? No, not everything. Just the word. The one word. Everything. Hanging out, smiling, laughing, speaking, then, not speaking. I need to say... the word I need... Silence. Everything is frozen. Everything is still. Emotion drips off like watercolors off a canvas in the rain. Muscle group release their tension. Fingers relax. Every ounce of being centered at the brain. Focusing. I... Please, word, come! I need you! I need you. The girl. My friend. Her grin falters ever so slightly. No! Word, please! Searching, searching, searching. Recalculating Route. In, out. Relax. The word is... The word is... Her grin has become a face of alarm. No! The word is...
