Conducting Life

What are we but conductors

And our actions the music

Each musician a feature

Creating the piece that is you

With melodies telling a story

Where nothing remains regular

Tempo marches on to key change

Dissonance falling to release

Anticipation of the next phrase

Creating mistakes in the now

Tension building in wrong notes

Missed entrances and releases

Do not fret about a pause

For silence is still a song

Take a breath and resume

There are more verses to be sung
