Confessions
It’s hard to tell things to people
I don’t know how they’ll act or
Exactly what a reaction will mean
So when I told you
When I gathered up my courage
To tell you
That I love my boyfriend but I
Also love girls
I waited with baited breath
And you-Mom-you,
Shrugged it off
I was so happy to know
That no matter how I go
Through life you still loved me
And then you said it and chilled
My heart with the cold day
That cold summer day you said to me
“It’s probably just a phase”
And I learned you didn’t know anything
