Confessions

In my mind it was okay,

to ruin my own Christmas,

by opening a present too early,

and not being surprised Christmas morning.

In my mind it was okay,

to go through someone’s wallet,

instead of waiting for money for Chuck E. Cheese’s,

where a kid could be a kid

In my mind it was okay,

to blame other people,

when there was no need to,

like blaming my grandma,

for the cable bill’s increase.

In my mind it was okay,

to just set aside my feelings and lie,

saying that it was a bad headache,

and not the heartache bursting inside.
