Confidence
Malleability.
Malleable in mind and character.
I don’t want to be that way.
No, true to myself.
I’m happy with that.
Others with chameleon-like personalities,
Bending to influence.
I don’t want to be that way.
True to myself.
I’m happy with that.
A world of mechanical men, mechanical women,
Wandering in and out of themselves;
Wait and wonder who they are.
I am confident in me,
Not changing for someone else.
Could I live any other way?
Step away from the assurance of who I am?
No, I’m happy with who I am.
I can’t live as anything else.
I will be true to myself,
Sure of my purpose, of my existence.
I belong here.
I am here and I am me.
True to myself.
I’ll be who I am, no one else.
How can I do otherwise?
I reject malleability.
I am me,
I am true to myself;
I am happy with that.
