Conflict

The root to all evil,

The purpose of life.

We can't live without it,

No matter how much we try.

But why?

Why conflict?

Is the idea of perfection too overwhelming?

Without conflict,

We settle,

For less,

For nothing,

For the happiness of others.

With conflict,

We push ourselves, even others.

For strength, prosperity, wealth.

We kill each other in order to find this purpose,

But are stuck with internal conflict.

Like Thoreau in the cabin,

Or Siddartha trying to find his santuary.

There will always be conflict,

No matter how much one tries to hide from it.

So that leaves one question:

Without conflict,

Are you really happy?
