Conflicted

There’s something about the way

You look me in the eye and tell me

That you always tell the truth

That makes me want to

Drink in your every word

Breathe in all of your sweet nothings

And let your words envelop me

in a warm blanket of affection

And yet, there’s something about the way

I want this so much

That makes me want to run

far far away

and never look back
