Confused and Amused

At first it confused me,

But then it amused me.

I starred at it in awe

The words on the page

But nothing made sense

It was all nonsense.

At first it made me mad,

But then it made me glad.

My friends were confused too.

But our teacher helped us

And soon we understood.

At first it was misusing,

But then it was consuming.

I began to make connections

And a lightbulb went off.

It all makes sense now.

At first it meant nothing,

But then it meant everything.

It became my whole world

and I created my own,

A poem of sorts.

At first it was a stranger,

But then became a friend.

It was my confidant

With whom I shared my secrets.

It was an escape.

At first it confused me

But then it amused me
