Conquering Fear (A Haiku)

I used to be scared

Terrified to even look

Around at my peers

I felt like nothing

I was smaller than an ant

Meeker than a mouse

Yet slowly it stopped

I realized my self worth

My worth was not grades

My worth was not looks

It was found in my kindness

It was found in joy

I live not for me

My worth is not in myself

But helping others

So I do not fear

Instead I befriend the scared

And thus ends my fear
