Romans 2:15-16                     New English Translation

15 They show that the work of the law is written in their hearts, as their conscience bears witness and their conflicting thoughts accuse or else defend them, 16 on the day when God will judge the secrets of human hearts, according to my gospel through Christ Jesus.

Consciousness of conscience

The correctness of conduct and good habits can advance the civilized lot

But it is not like quiet hunger for obedience to the direct Will of God

Hardened consciences are not restricted to the only and selected few

They are man-made fabrications, which originate somewhere in the pew

Reject attempts from man’s religion to mold your conscience into their mold

Really only God should direct and guide it as He will multiply ten-fold

A marvelous treasure is our conscience. It surely has infinite worth

It receives its understanding direct from the Spirit through our rebirth

Its faculties beyond description. It is the pipeline to God’s Will

Oh! Let us keep it soft and tender and leave it open for God to fill
