Dear Modern day performers

Dear you the cell phone users

Dear keyboard warriors

My dearest of the dear whom with I’m feeling fear

Please don’t speak up. Don’t speak out.

Words are wrong

and shouldn’t be used.

They float in the wind leaving behind cuts and scratched scars.

What’s a world with words that OUR actions may speak louder?

I read you and your motions more than your words

Words

are lies.

“I’m fine.”

Right…

That is not what I’m reading.

Your words are useless if they’re lies. Lies to make the world cry.

Why can’t you just take in sadness? Accept pain as it is.

No wonder we don’t get over these earthly weaknesses

Words are lies.

I’m happy with life, but you don’t care.

You don’t know me and choose not to

Let’s pick a fight, take my experience as a drama student

and bring on the drama

Let’s express

through that tweet to tell our followers #shitsabouttogodown

Followers?

What do you think you’re a God now?

You take those selfies to worship yourself.

Let us Bow down and objectify in a comment of a “fake no makeup selfie”

Let us give you that complement high

Is a followers’ praise how you thrive?

You’re now a vampire on the hunt for attention.

You’d think a God could be self-sufficient.

I don’t want to deny you of your beauty.

I want to open your eyes.

Those beautiful unique eyes.

As a close my eyes.

Can you tell me the color that lies beneath the lids?

Or is this a thing you weren't bothering to notice while you stared into the dark eyes of your phone.

We’ve lost the art of conversation and caring;

letting our phones take over our lives

Yet I highly doubt you’ll listen

behind your music

Your Snapchat. Facebook. Twitter.

Whatever.

Did you let your phone mean too much?

I'm sorry I won’t speak up about any dilemma anymore

I’ll be shut out by people’s common interest

in just wanting to get through the day

Get out of this class. Getting on with our puny young adult lives

Go on and be your own so-called God.

When secretly we all know that we are just worshipping

Our filters to cover up our bullshit personalities

And disgusting pasts present and futures

Let’s go look through those rose tinted glasses and pretend to be nice

Let’s say “I’m fine” because we aren’t worth more than that

From our society’s actions that I’ve read

Funny I start on a rant on words, Yet here I am

I used words. I guess I’m a hypocrite.

Unlike the rest of society of course.

If I can’t get you to hear me with anything I say with the anger I’ve accepted and my passion behind it, I’ll leave you with this note and hopefully you listen

There’s an addiction spreading

Let me tell you I’m dreading just reading this from my phone letting

Myself rely on this mini computer of addiction

Yes I said addiction

But not for me.  For those who feel insecure without it.

It’s an issue.  Why we rely on something that’s not life. It's a society of social anxiety.

Tell me how is laughing and spending time with friends and family the same as lol?

How is a hug not as good as “sorry bout ur dead relative dude”

Words mean nothing on a text if you don't know the context.

It breaks my heart.

So I dare you to take a day

Put your phone away

Leave it at home alone

You’ll survive but if you have a feeling that you wanna die it’s a sign

I hate to be blunt but open your eyes

You have a problem

Deal with it.

Get help with it. No more lies.

sincerely me

That one who ranted at you

Sorry for the waste of your precious phone time
