Constant War Within

I'll be okay

And I'm safe

And no one will hurt me,

I have to whisper repeatedly to myself

As my fear and terror springs

Up to return again,

As my hatred rises up again

Against half the population

That I'm miserable around;

No one will hurt me,

I constantly have to remind myself,

With a follow-up of,

I hope;

I pray for

Peace

And strength in the moment,

As my anxiety

Resurfaces once more

To devour me

In a cloud

Of unnecessary,

Unwanted hate

And terror.

writers_gonna_write

I have been writing poetry for 5 years now and I have a collection of over 600 original poems I've made. I submitted a poem to Appelley Publishing and was published in the 2018 addition of their poetry book. I love to read and write, and I have a cat and a hamster.
