Constellation

I stared starward when sleep had let me be,

Being again alone in bed thinking of you.

Under night bright I thought yesterday's thought

of how therewas no you, and just my bed.

These two ideas danced within my head,

ballet of tears and joy beneath moonlight.

I saw myself a star in lonely skies -

I saw myself a star in voids so cold.

But now I see in those twinkles so old

what now I feel and cherish in my life:

You.

You bring me light and laugh and laud and love,

filling a void I thought endless to be.

Embracing you lights deep within a fire.

Your truth, your love, your care, desire

empassion me like rapture from on high.

Your words within my soul bring soothing grace,

your love so strong that I can almost taste

essence of happiness which fills my heart,

because I love you.

For that, I'll be there should you ever cry,

or hide, I'll love you with my words and touch.

The day you stumble I'll be by your side,

and as you laugh, we'll make each other smile.

We'll lay in bed and cuddle for a while,

we'll value what we we've got, we have our love,

our fears, our strengths, our passions that we seek,

the peace that comes knowing you are right there.

Even on lonely days that bond we share

brings comfort knowing you are in my heart.

I love you.

I stared starward when peace had set me free,

being alone in bed but not in soul,

and saw on canvas: splattered, sprinkled stars.

I knew that you were out there, but with me.

I'm not a lonely speck, this now I see -

like dancing stars we constellate so close,

yesterday's thoughts rewritten by our touch.

You make me feel alive and bring me peace,

and as two stars we brightly shine with ease.

You listen, love, for you I'll do the same.

I'll never let our constellation wane.

Because I love you.
