Constellations

It was rather beautiful- the stars scattered across his body.

Peculiarly placed, they all seemed to tell a story.

Like constellations.

Powered by love, driven by hate- we were like neutron stars,

Destined to be alone- because the moment we collide,

We would devour each other, until there was nothing left but a black hole.

An inevitable ending, we both knew.

That did not deter him from me, or he, I.

Besides, nothing lasts forever- this, we both knew.

The exploration of each other was our goal, our dream.

But eventually, our dreams began to burst at the seams.

Deeper and deeper, I fell, knowing he could not catch me.

Even with this knowledge, I could not resist.

The ecstasy I felt when the touch of his hand cause mountains to form on my skin.

And the sound of his voice that made my body shiver with delight.

And every time before we’d kiss, he’d whisper

“Let’s shower in the meteors tonight.”
